I Simply Can't Wait—7 Spring Trends Already in My Nordstrom Shopping Cart

It's a universally known truth that fashion editors are not patient. We're always looking forward to the fashion seasons ahead, itching to know what the next buzzing trends are and trying to get our hands on the new It items before everyone else. I am certainly in this camp. While we're still in the throes of winter, it hasn't stopped me from getting ahead and shopping for the coolest pieces that spring has in store.
After perusing Nordstrom's site from top to bottom this week, I've already added a handful of fresh items that hit this year's biggest trends. Take a peek below to get ahead of next season's must-have pieces, from '90s basics to sheer skirts.
'90s Basics

If you love minimal '90s style, then you're going to love what's in store for spring 2024. Brands are focusing on wardrobe staples featuring clean lines with modern touches that are easy to wear and perennially chic—from pencil skirts, relaxed straight-leg jeans, and white shirts to square necklines, gray tailoring, and coordinated suiting.
Shop the trend:
Burgundy

Call it merlot, black cherry, oxblood, or burgundy—rich dark red appeared on practically every spring runway from designers such as Hermès, Gucci, and Tom Ford to name but a few. Whether you style it from head to toe or add it to your ensemble via a chic accessory, the sumptuous color feels fresh, and it's easy to wear now and into spring (then back into fall).
Shop the trend:
Super-Low Heels

For spring 2024, we'll be walking comfortably! A whole host of designers showcased super-low heels on the runways in a variety of styles, from saturated satin mules at Prada to caged pointed-toe slingbacks at Valentino. Comfortable, cool, and classy—we're in.
Shop the trend:
Preppy Athletic Pieces

This year is giving major country club vibes, as evidenced by the myriad of preppy athletic looks on the runways—most prominently at Miu Miu. Time to stock up on polo shirts, academic blazers, striped button-downs, and rugby shirts that lean into the relaxed, moneyed aesthetic.
Shop the trend:
Sheer Pieces

The transparent trend has been around for the past few seasons, but for this year, delicate, sheer fabrics are taking center stage in everyday wear and are being styled in more approachable ways. Opt for a sheer skirt with an oversize crewneck sweater and low heels for an outfit that feels very spring 2024.
Shop the trend:
White Dresses

White dresses are set to dominate this spring and summer, and there are plenty of styles for every taste. Expect to see white frocks, from sheer fabrics to intricate lacework, dominate your feed once the temps start to rise.
Shop the trend:
Mod Micro Minis

There's no doubt about it: Hemlines are rising in 2024. While micro shorts are definitely a big trend this year, it's the '60s-style shift minidresses that we saw all over the spring runways that really feel fresh, exciting, and wearable.
