J.Crew's New Fall Items Are Sickeningly Chic—30 I Couldn't Resist Even If I Wanted To
Ever since designer Olympia Gayot took over womenswear for J.Crew, I've been revisiting the brand's site more often than usual. She has put a fresh spin on the retailer's signature preppy styles. Plus, there are plenty of elevated basics to go along with her standout pieces. The brand's also been on a successful run of buzzy collabs—including with Anna October and, most recently, Maryam Nassir Zadeh—that have helped it up its cool factor.
With fall upon us (seriously, how is the time passing so fast?), I naturally headed over to J.Crew's new-arrivals section to see what the latest pieces were for the season ahead. Suffice it to say that I was impressed—so impressed that I found 30 items that I couldn't resist even if I tried. (I didn't.) Below, find elevated cashmere sweaters, versatile dresses, lace-trimmed skirts, sophisticated flat shoes, and luxe-looking bags that'll make you, too, want to show out the second you start to feel the first hints of autumn in the air.
This slip skirt with lace trim will be the workhorse of your new fall wardrobe—trust me.
There are sweater-vests and sweaterdresses, but sweater pants? Count me in.
Mesh flats are still going strong, but this pair also has sparkles for more of a head-turning moment.
Now this is a dress. Whether you have an occasion or want to look like you do, you should grab this stunner.
A great pair of jeans doesn't come around as often as you'd think.
How demure and mindful are these Mary Jane ballet flats?
These boudoir-inspired pants are ones you'll want to wear out of the bedroom.
A slinky satin mini with a bow at the neckline is what your fall wardrobe is missing.
Obsessed with these pumps and the embossed texture.
This is definitely a day-to-night kind of number, depending on how you style it.
Just throwing in this cashmere cardigan with cute pockets that's currently on sale.
A striped button-down is a great layering piece for fall.

Lauren Adhav is a freelance fashion editor based in Los Angeles. Originally from Orlando, Florida, she always wanted to work at a fashion magazine. After finally getting an internship at Town & Country in 2015, she moved to New York City and continued to get her footing in the industry with stints at Cosmopolitan, W magazine, Harper's Bazaar, and Moda Operandi. In 2017, she returned to Cosmo full time, starting off as the beauty and fashion editorial assistant and working her way to fashion editor. She contributed to both the website and print issues, pitching new ideas, forecasting trends, covering red carpet events, and informing the overall coverage and brand voice. After five years in NYC, she moved to the West Coast for the sunshine and the change of pace. As a freelance fashion editor, she still contributes to Cosmo and now Who What Wear. She's always trying to get ahead of the next big trend before it goes mainstream and loves discovering fashion brands with a unique point of view (Chopova Lowena, Sandy Liang, and Bode being some of her current favorites). She also spends an unhealthy amount of time online shopping for the perfect piece, and now that she's in L.A., she's rediscovering her soft spot for malls. On the weekends, you can find her walking around the Silver Lake Reservoir, trying to catch up on her tan at Venice Beach, and probably ordering a Chinese chicken salad at Joan's on Third.
