5 New Things Fashion People Are Talking About in October

If it seems like fashion news is moving a mile a minute, well, you're not alone. Despite our numerous social media feeds and perpetual press releases, it can be hard to keep up with the latest industry news—even as full-time editors—which is why we're trying something new and boiling it down to just the basics. Here are the five new things fashion people are talking about right now:

Coast to Coast

Last week, Maje celebrated its S/S 25 collection with bicoastal dinner events just 24 hours apart. Held at The Ludlow Hotel in New York, the first gathering was attended by Larsen Thompson, Natalie and Dylana Suarez, Mary Leest, and other stylish women. Next, Maje jetted over to the iconic Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles to host Kathryn Newton, Gillian Jacobs, Hilary Rhoda, and Justine Lupe. At the West Coast dinner, I previewed Maje's spring pieces, and I was seriously impressed with the selection. March can't come soon enough.

Denim Drop

True Religion has tapped Megan Thee Stallion to star in its new holiday 2024 campaign. "Working with True Religion is such a full-circle moment," Megan said in a press release. "I've been a fan of the brand since I was a kid, so it's really exciting to star in this campaign and bring in the Hot Girl Holidays in a special way." True Religion also included rapper and songwriter Hunxho in the shoot to promote its menswear offerings for the festive season.

DKNY Turns 35

The brand may be 13 years older than she is, but that doesn't mean Kaia Gerber isn't the perfect fit for DKNY's newest campaign. As an avid reader and founder of the book club Library Science, Gerber was the perfect choice to model DKNY's literary-themed fall 2024 campaign in celebration of its 35th anniversary. The images feature quotes from iconic NY-based books such as The Great Gatsby and Just Kids.

A '90s Legend

Winona Ryder has been quite the busy bee while promoting her new film, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, but that hasn't stopped her from taking on exciting fashion projects. She landed Jimmy Choo's fall 2024 campaign, and the '90s-inspired images are simply to die for. I suddenly need those over-the-knee boots in my life.

Evolution of an Icon

Seventy years later, the Longines Conquest watch is as chic as ever. The Swiss brand has just expanded its iconic Conquest line to include new sizes and colors, including a blue-dial version seen on Barbara Palvin in the above campaign image released today. The campaign also features Longines ambassadors Suzy and Zhao Liying modeling the new pink and green dials. We'll take one in each color, please.

Associate Director, Fashion News

Erin got her start as a Who What Wear intern over 13 years ago—back when the site only published a single story per day. (Who What Wear has since increased that number twentyfold.) She graduated magna cum laude from USC, which is how she ended up moving to Los Angeles from her hometown of San Diego. In college, she also interned at Refinery29, where she was promoted to editorial assistant and then assistant editor. After nearly three years at R29, she came back to WWW in 2016, where she currently holds the title of Associate Director of Fashion News (as well as the unofficial title of resident royal expert—in case you haven't noticed her numerous Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton stories). She spends her days trying to incorporate her idols, Anna Wintour and Roger Federer, into as many stories as possible. Outside of work, she loves tennis, classic rock, traveling, and smothering her dog with affection.
